About Gustavo Bergalli

In 1975, Bergalli relocated to Stockholm, Sweden, where he became a prominent figure in the Scandinavian jazz scene, collaborating with ensembles such as the Swedish Radio Jazz Group and the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra.

The Album

On the Way showcases Bergalli’s lyrical trumpet and flugelhorn performances, supported by a talented Swedish ensemble:

  • Håkan Broström – alto and soprano saxophones
  • Stefan Blomquist – piano
  • Olle Steinholtz – bass
  • Leif Fredriksson – drums

The album features a mix of original compositions and interpretations, reflecting a fusion of jazz traditions. Notable tracks include “Volver,” a nod to Bergalli’s Argentine roots, and “Bonjour Tristesse,” highlighting the quintet’s dynamic range.
